Message from the Chairperson
The Department of Food Science admitted its first cohort of Students into the Food Science and Technology and Food Science and Nutrition degree programs in the year 2011 when MUST was a constituent college of the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology. Since its inception, in tandem with MUST becoming a fully Chartered University in 2013, the department has grown tremendously in student numbers, staff, research, and teaching facilities. Currently, we are offering 3 BSc programs (Food Science and Technology, Food Science and Nutrition, and Food Science and Management), an MSc in Food Science and Technology, and a Ph.D. in Food Science.
